Serving Worship
Everyone has a part to play in Lutheran worship - singing, reading, praying, serving, or leading! (Lutheran worship is not a spectator sport!) Many components come together to create the symphony that is Lutheran worship.
Ushers assist with the movement of people during the service and assisting with sound.
Acolytes assist the pastor during the service with communion and candle lighting.
Worship Committee determines the decorations, layout, and hymns for every service. The committee keeps up on the religious calendar to ensure that special church holiday's throughout the year are planned for accordingly.
Assisting Ministers lead worship by reading scriptures, praying prayers, and assisting with the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Fellowship is an excellent time to mingle with church folk. Of course, help is always needed to make coffee!
Readers read the scripture selections during the service.
The Altar Guild is in charge of putting up weekly decorations for the church for the change in church events. They also ensure the altar, candles, bread and wine for communion, and other worship service necessary materials are in place every week prior to service.
In addition to piano at every service, our church has many talented individuals that provide brass, string, or other ensembles for music on special holidays throughout the year.
Greeters meet people coming into the church.
